TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Barnes and Noble held a book signing Saturday for former local resident, Aften Brook Szymanski.
Her new young adult science fiction novel “Cheat Code” just came out a couple of weeks ago. The Wyoming based author is a self-proclaimed nerd and big gamer.
So she wanted to write a book about her passion to connect with her husband and son.
The book is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other retailers. It’s described as an easy read and action packed.
“People have said it’s the Hunger Games meets Tron, it’s artificial intelligence that has to be human sourced. In order to make that work, people who have terminal illnesses can be on the donor list to have their brains or intelligence uploaded in a game where they can compete for artificial intelligence. It just goes terribly wrong,” Szymanski said.
Aften grew up in the Buhl/Wendell area, spending her summers working in the fields with her older sister.
