Hey hey! We’re back once again with an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! June has arrived and that means we are just weeks away from the biggest pop culture event of the year with San Diego Comic-Con 2018! This week the convention exclusives are starting to trickle out and there are even more awesome new collectibles coming from some of our favorite companies like NECA, Hasbro and McFarlane Toys! There’s plenty to see in the Toy News for the week of June 5th, 2018!

No Collection Will Be Immune

This fall Sony is bringing Spider-Man’s longtime nemesis Venom to the big screen in his very own solo live-action film! Hopefully, it’ll be better than the last time we saw him in live actual back in 2007’s ‘Spider-Man 3’! Just in case it isn’t quite all it’s cracked up to be, the team at Hasbro has you covered with a whole new wave of ‘Venom’ themed comic book style figures in their 6″ Marvel Legends line coming this fall!

The line is made up of a number of in-demand characters like Typhoid Mary, Scream, Poison, and even Peter Porker the Spider-Ham! There will also be re-releases of some previously released Venom and Carnage figures with all new accessories like unmasked heads to make them worth giving a second look! The icing on the cake, however, is that if you collect the whole set you can build a massive Venom build-a-figure!

Hard To Say No To Those Baby Blues

We don’t cover too many statues here (as it’s Toy News Tuesday, not Statue News Saturday ((patent pending)), but this next one was too good to leave out. Now, we can’t speak for everyone, but ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ might just be one of the single most anticipated films of the year, and the team at Chronicle Collectibles is bringing collectors the chance to bring part of the park home! This week Chronicle Collectibles has announced an all-new 1:1 scale life-sized state of baby Blue the Velociraptor!

Chronicle has teamed up with Universal and ILM and used the digital assets directly from the upcoming film to bring the formerly only digital dinosaur to life for real in your collection as a limited edition polyresin statue! Blue will stand approximately 24″ tall and is only going to set you back a whopping $999.99! Thankfully there are a few different interest-free payment plan options, which gives hope to even those on a tight budget! Check out the full release info from Chronicle Collectibles below and pre-order here while you can!

When the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer first premiered, the scene that probably caught your eye the most was the flashback sequence involving Blue and Owen when Blue was barely beyond a hatchling. Blue has arguably been the fan favorite of the new Jurassic World franchise, and a favorite of the team at Chronicle Collectibles as well. So, it gives us great pleasure to present our first collectible from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – 1:1 Baby Blue.

This life-size statue of Baby Blue was made using the same digital files from Industrial Light & Magic as you see in the film, making this the most screen-accurate Baby Blue you will ever find. This 1:1 scale statue will surely make for a show-stopping centerpiece to any Jurassic Park fan’s collection and will be instantly recognizable to your guests, co-workers, friends, and family. In other words, pretty much anyone who ventures out to the megaplex to see this summer’s hottest blockbuster will know exactly what you have and you’ll be the absolute envy of them.

Discover the fun you’re going to have with this statue as you recreate the scene where Owen plays with Baby Blue. We fully anticipate lots of pictures will pop up on social media of fans posing with our 1:1 Baby Blue statue in a variety of settings, limited only by fan creativity.

However, since this year is the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park coupled with this being a limited edition piece, we expect fan interest will quickly outweigh supply. As such, we wanted to let you know that you should get your order in as soon as possible, and feel free to use our interest-free payment plans to accommodate your budget.

Don’t miss this chance to bring Baby Blue home to your collection!

Lava Finds A Way

If you’re looking for an awesome new ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ fix but can’t quite find a way to afford the piece mentioned above, Mattel has you covered with an awesome new playset! Get ready to get the lava really flowing with the new ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Slime Lava Surge’ playset! The playset lets you recreate what looks like will be an iconic scene involving lava flowing into an underground bunker within the former park’s ruins! The only real difference is that the lava here is made out of a fun 4oz. container of lava-colored slime that you can pour down the grates at the top of the playset to simulate lava! To make things even cooler, this playset comes packed with a Baryonyx dinosaur figure so you can truly recreate scenes from the movie! This set is due to hit stores this month!
